Sisters

10 days ago was when I realized that my baby didn't seem so baby-ish after all, instead so big and grown. So able and independent. So tall. 10 days ago my baby became a big sister and the changes in her in just 10 days leave Rob and I smiling, and shaking our heads with utter amazement. Oia is beside herself, giddy and happy, bouncing all over this house. Giggly. Often stopping mid-play to find and kiss her sister, then squeezing her too hard. No jealously here... just an admiration and a new sisterly love that I always hoped I would one day get to experience in motherhood. What a joy and blessing it will be to watch these two angels grow up together...

  3. Oh dear Mo, you will indeed be blessed to experience the sister love as a mother! It is one of my favorite things about my family, no doubt about it. When they comfort or defend each other against some perceived injustice or injury I just melt. "NO, my sister!" little Hannah will shout, if her father suggests a time out for elder sister might be appropriate -it is so much fun to see!

The new masthead is fabulous! What a lovely picture!

Esme is a peach! By the way I tried very hard to post here recently and Blogger kept kicking me off to sign in repeatedly - no idea why but it explains why I have not yet said "Congrats to the whole Teaster family on the lovely littlest Teaster!" I am super duper extra happy for all of you!

  5. Love this picture Mo! Sisters are a wonderful thing. The only heartbreak will be when Esme wants to kiss/hug on Oia and not you and Rob(speaking from experience). Hoping you are soaking up every wonderful minute :)

  7. Love these new pictures! I never understood how someone can think a child can be "jealous" of a new sibling. So silly! :) So glad to hear how happy Oia is. I can't explain how much seeing my girls being sisters and taking care of eachother means to me. It's amazing isn't it?
